The house is almost entirely brick although there is a small
amount of wood trim. Because the house is brick, it is very low
maintenance and is also energy efficient. The house was painted
in 1999 and paint on brick will generally last 10 to 20 years.
The cedar shake roof was replaced in 2004 and is also typically
good for 20 years or more. There is a small garden shed in back
and two decks, both with lake views.
In front of the house there is a large oak tree that provides
shade from the afternoon sun and keeps the house cool in the summer.
The entire grounds have been landscaped.
Leading down to the lake, the original "railroad tie"
steps have been replaced with pressure treated lumber.
The house has been meticulously maintained and should require
little additional maintenance for years to come.
